One of the hardest things for many of us to do is get everything done that we want to get done in a day. Our society has become one where being so busy with kids, careers, family, projects, etc. that it is almost like wearing a badge of honor to tell someone how busy we are. It’s like exhaustion proves you are a superhero and you are important not only to yourself but those around you…and that if you are not busy then you are worthless in a sense. WHAT?! How have we gotten to this place in our lives where this is our line of thinking? I read this wonderful book by Christine Carter, Ph.D. called “The Sweet Spot”, in her book she talks about how we need to take recess throughout our day and by doing this we can actually get more things done! Sounds crazy, right? I know for many that seems like an impossible task.

Thinking of many of my students I have worked with at the beginning of Your Direct Sales Foundation, in week 1 we focus on getting organized and starting to build a plan for our business. In helping students work through this it can be a very daunting task to create a routine that fits the needs of life and your business. For many of you, you may have left a corporate job to be home with the kids, maybe home school them and run your business. It’s a complete change in your routine. Or maybe you work full time, have kids; they have their activities like soccer, football, baseball, karate, etc. that you need to get them to, but also find the time to work on your business. Wow! That is a lot. Just hearing those things may be causes your emotions positive and negative to go on a roller coaster ride…your heart rate and blood pressure  go up, breathing changes, you break out in a sweat, your mouth gets dry, or your brain flips the on switch in the middle of the night and there you are staring at your ceiling instead of the inside of your eye lids. We are stressed out!
