Last week one of my students in group coaching asked, “Tasha, where have you been all my life?” The short answer is, “Corporate America being comfortable with 5 weeks of vacation and a great salary.” The real answer is, “I’ve been getting ready to serve you.”

I haven’t shared much of my story with you. I don’t think it’s super relevant. Your story is of utmost importance here. However, as bits of my story have leaked, I have seen how much it encourages others. So today, I’m going to answer the question- where have I been your whole life? I’ll tell you how I got here, to the point where I’m serving you. I’ll also share what I believe to be the reasons I’ve been able to be successful. I believe these to be the same things many of you need to do to be successful.

Most of you know my story starts with me learning how to sell knives, and teaching others to do the same. Then the story fast forwards 15 years to when I bought my first network marketing product and started teaching my rep how to sell more effectively. But I missed a decade or so in my story.

Today I want to tell you 3 stories. The first is about why I decided to go into sales instead of going to law school. The second is why I really started my business. I usually talk about being home with my kids, but that is only a small bit of the story. The third is how I went from utter frustration in my first four months in business and how I got to the point where last week I added more people to my team and we are gearing up for next year and disrupting in the industry. In this last story, I’m going to share the things I did to go from wondering if anyone would ever buy anything, to having 10 1-on-1 clients, over 70 group coaching clients, and overall over 200 students in my various classes.

I hope this story is an encouragement to you. If not, don’t worry the mushfest will be over this week and next week I’ll come back with a shorter show on the technical skills of sales and leadership. 🙂
