It can be super frustrating to do all this work connecting with people (especially through social media) and then feel like you have to follow up forever to make a sale…

Many of our friends/clients are getting a little overwhelmed with tracking everyone and fear getting “ghosted” and don’t know how to respond.

Let’s make sure you aren’t making one of these common, time-wasting mistakes in your business.

  1. Skipping the conversion event. The conversion event is a fancy name for a 1-on-1 or a webinar. Don’t sell on the fly in messenger. Try to INCREASE connection by having an actual conversation so they can make the most informed decision.
  2. Giving a presentation versus having a conversation. Now is not the time to hide behind fancy slides. If you have good slides to illustrate a point, awesome! Use it! Just don’t forget that people want a conversation, not to be “talked at.” A conversation is much more collaborative.
  3. Not being clear about exactly what you want them to do. Make sure you give incredibly simple and clear instructions, ones that a 4th grader can follow.
  4. “Forgetting” a fast action bonus. If you were doing an in-person event, it’s likely you would give a free item to them if they enroll before they leave. Make sure you do the same for your online potentials. This creates a win-win scenario for the customer to avoid procrastination.

The overall message I have for you is to deliver as much of your in-person process simply using the technology available to you. Increase your efforts for personal connection since you can’t hug them at the end and you will do great.

If you want to take a deeper dive into how to sell online, then I want to invite you to join me on Tuesday, December 8th at 8:30 am Pacific for a live workshop, “Tips, Tricks, and Tools for Hosting an Online Class/Webinar That Converts”.  You can grab the details and register here: emergesales.kartra.com/page/dec8
